Gates open two hours before first pitch, and for families with young children those two hours are half the fun. Here is how to make the most of the fan zone before the game.

First stop: the speed-gun cage. Free for every junior ticket holder, it measures throwing speed across three attempts. Under-10s throw foam balls from closer in, and the day's fastest arm gets announced over the PA before the seventh-inning stretch.

Food without the fuss. The family stand concourse has high chairs, bottle-warming at the kiosk and a kids' meal deal every game. Outside food for allergies and babies is always welcome — just no glass.

“We designed matchdays for a four-year-old's attention span: paint, trains, drums, then baseball. It works — our youngest season-pass holder is three.”

Quiet when you need it. The clubhouse sensory room opens for every fixture, with dimmed lights and ear defenders to borrow. Ask any steward in a lime bib and they will walk you there.

Face paint runs until thirty minutes before first pitch, the mascot does the concourse loop an hour before the game, and pushchairs park free under the family stand. See you at the BBQ on family day — it sells out by noon.
