Joining a new club is nerve-wracking enough without worrying about kit. The short version: bring your child, dressed to run around, and we provide everything else.
Essentials: trainers (not studs), comfortable sports clothes, a water bottle and any medication the coaches should know about — inhalers and allergy pens go to the session lead at check-in.
Provided free: gloves, bats, helmets, balls and catching gear. Our kit bank means nobody needs to buy equipment before knowing they love the game.
“The only thing a first session needs is a child willing to have a go. Shy, sporty, never-thrown-a-ball — we have seen them all become ballplayers.”
Leave at home: jewellery, chewing gum and your own bat (coaches match bat sizes to players for safety). Parents stay for under-11 sessions; older groups can be dropped at the gate where a coach signs everyone in.
Sessions run in all weathers short of lightning — a light rain jacket in the bag is wise from October. Arrive ten minutes early, find the coach in the lime bib, and you are officially part of Bases Loaded.
