Summer Skills Camp is the biggest week in our calendar — eighty juniors, five days, one intra-squad final under the lights. It only works because of the people running it. Here are the faces you will see in August.

Coach Daniel Reyes leads the batting stations. A former regional-league catcher, Daniel has coached at the club for nine years and believes every child leaves camp with a better swing than they arrived with — guaranteed, or the ice lollies are on him.

Coach Amara Osei runs fielding and baserunning. Amara played university softball, holds a level-two qualification and masterminds the Friday colour-war tournament that ends every camp week in joyful chaos.

“Camp is where shy eight-year-olds become shortstops. The transformation in five days is the reason we all volunteer.”

They are joined by first-team mentors Mason, Diego and Jayden, who assist at every station and umpire the final. All coaches are DBS-checked, first-aid trained and, most importantly, undefeated at camp-wide rounders.

Places are strictly limited by our coach-to-player ratio and always sell out — registration for this summer is open in the club store now.
